Harry Kane's Ballon d'Or Hasn't Moved His Prizm Alter Ego Card

The first raw copy to sell after Monday's ceremony went for $40, right around where the card has sold since August.

Harry Kane won the men's Ballon d'Or at the London Palladium on Monday as the first English winner since Michael Owen in 2001. A raw copy of his most-traded card, the 2026 Panini Prizm FIFA World Cup Alter Ego #3, sold for $40 on eBay after the ceremony.

Raw copies went for around $86 in July as collectors paid a release premium for an insert sellers list as a case hit. Copies dropped to around $40 in August and have stayed there through September and October.

Monday's trophy didn't change what collectors will pay for this card because they already knew about the 73 goals he scored for club and country last season.

Kane won the vote. But collectors are putting their money on Lamine Yamal, as his base card from the same Prizm World Cup set has sold 203 times in the last month against 47 for Kane's Alter Ego. Kane is 33 and closer to the end of his career than the start, while Yamal is 19 with a real shot at going down as the GOAT. Collectors are paying for the years Yamal has left.

I'd still buy a raw Kane at $35 now that the release premium has burned off. At that price you're paying less for the Ballon d'Or winner than anyone did the week before he won it.
