A Jordan Finest Refractor That Sold for $9,700 Two Weeks Ago Is Back on eBay at $8,250

Eighty-nine bids had taken a 1993-94 Topps Finest Refractor Michael Jordan #1 in a PSA 9 to $8,250 by Monday afternoon, ahead of its 11:25 p.m. ET close on eBay.

It's the same slab that sold for $9,700 on eBay on Oct. 13 after 55 bids. Both listings show cert 18813848 in the same photo.

It's Jordan's first refractor, from the 1993-94 Finest set that brought refractors to basketball.

A PSA 9 sold for around $3,500 last October. It climbed past $9,600 in August and held near $10,000 into the fall. Alt sold one for $10,088 on Oct. 2.

The drop came after this slab's sale. The next two PSA 9s went for $8,050 on eBay last Wednesday and $8,400 at Fanatics Collect on Sunday.

The PSA 10 hasn't followed it down. A 10 sold for $58,560 at Goldin on Oct. 18, close to the $57,600 a Fanatics Collect copy sold for on Sept. 24.

Collectors who paid around $3,500 last fall are still about $4,750 ahead at tonight's bid. But anyone who bought between August and mid-October paid at least $9,300. That includes whoever bought this slab, who would be $1,450 under at tonight's bid.

For anyone bidding, I'd stop at $8,500, just above Sunday's sale at Fanatics Collect. I wouldn't pay October's $9,700 for the same slab two weeks later, but I guarantee you it will sell at an all-time high. The seller knows they got a deal and going for a quick flip.

The rest of tonight's closings are on CardWire's auctions page.
