Misiorowski Is Bringing Charizard power to Game 1 Tonight
Jacob Misiorowski told a kid at his World Series press conference that he'll bring flame energy when he starts Game 1 against the Rays on Friday.
His 104.8 mph pitch against the Padres is the fastest anyone has thrown in a postseason game since tracking began in 2008.
Misiorowski pulled a holographic Charizard in the Brewers' clubhouse in August 2025. "Definitely the flame energy," he said when the kid asked what Pokémon energy he'd bring to the mound. "What's Charizard's signature move? Fireball. Bring some fireball. I'm going to be ready."
Yahoo pointed out within hours that no Pokémon has a move called Fireball. The Charizard card he pulled lists Fire Spin instead.
His first Bowman Chrome autograph, from 2022 Bowman Draft, took off this spring. A PSA 10 sold at auction for $590 on May 5, peaked at $3,322 on June 17 and went for $2,809 on Aug. 5.
As of Oct. 21, the autograph has a gem rate of 36% at PSA, with 89 PSA 10s and 124 PSA 9s out of 245 graded.
Don't chase the PSA 10 before first pitch when a PSA 9 sold for $900 at auction on Oct. 12. That's where I'd bid. Friday's start will set the next PSA 10 price, since none has sold at auction since Aug. 5. If the fireball finally lasts five innings, I wouldn't expect that price to come in lower.
