This page lists everything CardWire stores in your browser, what each item does, how long it lasts, and how to change your choice.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser so that the site can recognise the same browser on a later visit. Some sites also use the browser's local storage, which holds a value the same way without sending it to a server on every request. CardWire uses one of each.

That is the whole list for readers. CardWire sets no advertising cookies, no social-media cookies, and no cookie that follows you to other sites. Staff who sign in to edit the site get a sign-in cookie of their own; readers never do.
If you decline
Nothing beyond cw-consent is stored. No analytics run. We count the decline as a number with no identifier attached.
If you accept
Mixpanel sets its identifier and records which pages you open, which modules you use, which links you follow, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location from your connection address. The Privacy Policy says what we do with that.
Changing your mind
The Cookies link in the footer reopens the choice. Withdrawing consent tells Mixpanel to delete the profile tied to your browser, to forget the identifier, and to remove its cookie. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser's own settings; doing so brings the banner back on your next visit.
Third parties
Mixpanel is the only third party that stores anything in your browser through CardWire, and only after you accept. Its own privacy policy is at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy. Our hosting provider, Vercel, sets no cookies for readers.
Governing law and disputes
This policy, and any dispute arising from it, is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute is resolved by binding arbitration in Miami-Dade County, Florida, on an individual basis, as the Terms of Use describe.
Changes
If this list changes, the date at the top changes with it.
