Gundam's newest booster boxes fall hardest as Stardust Trails arrives
Freedom Ascension and Eternal Nexus, both released this summer, have fallen more since September than any other Gundam box.

The two Gundam Card Game boxes Bandai released this summer are at a discount. A sealed Freedom Ascension box, the fifth main set, out July 24, now sells for about $178. The Eternal Nexus extra booster from June has slid even further. One Freedom Ascension box went for $126 on eBay on Nov. 2, though that was a single sale under every other one from late October. If you're a fan of new TCGs, this is a good buying moment for you. Although, there is always a risk prices continue to fall if the game doesn't get picked up on the tournament circuit.
Stardust Trails, the sixth set, reached stores at the end of October. Its first two boxes on the market sold for $130-$143 at the end of October. The older boxes dipped too, just not as far. Newtype Rising, the first set from July 2025, still sells for about $390, roughly twice a Freedom Ascension box. A Dual Impact box from last fall goes for about $152. Steel Requiem and Phantom Aria have barely moved since September.
This is a players' game. A raw Zaku II from the starter decks sells for about $6. Bandai even scaled the prize kit for its Freedom Ascension release events by seat count. People buy boxes to rip them and build decks. While a set is still shipping, Bandai can keep feeding stores more boxes than players open. This summer's two sets are carrying the most of that fresh supply right now.
The other side deserves a fair hearing. Every Gundam box has dipped since September, the first set included. Bandai hasn't said any set is out of print either. An English reprint would hit the older boxes the same way new supply is hitting this summer's releases.
Buy Gundam boxes to rip them and play the game. It's a big risk for new TCGs to make it, so only hold if you have conviction. Otherwise, enjoy the rip, make your decks, and join your local tournament.
