How does Tilt Rips work?

You pick a pack and a setting, rip it, then decide what to do with the card.

1. Pick a pack. Sports start at $25 and sealed packs top out at $500.¹
2. Pick a setting. Many packs offer Conservative, Speculative (the default), Risky at level 10 or Full Tilt at level 15. The Dime Pack is Speculative only.¹
3. Set the outcome. "Keep all", "Keep hits" or "Sell all".
4. Rip it. The card lands in your inventory, raw or graded.
5. Decide. Sell back, list it, vault it free or ship it.

What are the odds in a Tilt Rips pack?

Tilt shows odds as value bands, not card by card: its 10-cent Dime Pack lands under 13 cents about 80 times in 100.¹

• The setting: on the $500 Pokemon Ultimate Pack on Nov. 5, Full Tilt lifts a $650-plus pull from 7% on Conservative to 28%. A pull under $325 goes from 0% to 42%.¹
• The odds change: check the page before every rip, because that 42% read 56% on Nov. 4.¹
• The EV label: most packs say "100% EV". Level-gated Expert and Ultimate plus packs say 101% to 103%.¹
• The daily drop: the $50 Tilt Ticket, labeled 110% EV, drops 200 packs at 4 p.m. PT. It was sold out at all four of our reads.⁵
• Prizes beyond cards: a Ferrari SF90 listed at $750,000 tops the $150 Grand Prix pack.¹

How does Tilt Rips' buyback work?

Tilt's published rate is 90% of a card's live market value, credited to your wallet the moment you sell.²

• How the value is set: "live market data", source unnamed. "Can I dispute the sell back price? No."²
• Your rate: the terms say a quote can differ with how you got the card. Some items can't be sold for cash.⁴
• Paid in: withdrawable credit, though the terms let a quote name store credit or Rip Credits.⁴²
• Rip Credits: no cash value, gone 45 days after your last qualifying activity.⁴
• The exceptions: the Tilt Ticket pays 100% on eligible cards while the original ripper holds them. The Tilt Treasure's $1,000,000 Grand Prize can't be sold back.⁶⁵

How do you check a Tilt Rips offer before you take it?

The check is whether recent sales agree with Tilt's value.

1. Read the offer. At 90%, divide it by 0.9 to see the value behind it.
2. Pull recent sales. Same card, parallel, grader and grade, on eBay sold listings.
3. Compare. Near Tilt's number, take it. Well above it, keep the card and list it yourself.

Check thin cards hardest, because fewer sales stand behind the number.

Is a 90% buyback good?

Yes, if the market value is fair.

• Against eBay: a $100 sale leaves about $86 after fees, before shipping.⁷
• The catch: you can't withdraw a deposit until you've played it through once.⁴
