Luka Dončić's Silver Prizm rookie holds near $1,800 as his hot start continues

His Silver Prizm PSA 10 sells for $1,860, while the base Prizm PSA 10 holds near $200.

With LeBron James now with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Lakers are now Luka Dončić’s team. Through 8 games, the Lakers sit at a 6-2 record. Luka is a huge reason why. He has been on fire. His card market has been too. In four of his last five games, he has scored at least 40 points.

2018-19 Panini Prizm

Luka Dončić’s 2018-19 Panini Prizm rookie card is an extremely liquid card, with PSA 10 copies selling 708 times alone since November 2, 2025, raw copies only sold 191 times in around that same time frame. While a raw copy is obviously more affordable, some collectors may just want the card, compared to a graded copy. The base Prizm is still very desirable all things considered.

2018-19 Panini Prizm Silver

Retailers estimate that three Silver Prizms come in each 2018-19 Prizm Mega Box from retailer Target. If you spread across a 300-card checklist, a collector would need roughly 100 boxes, on average, to pull one Dončić Silver (or Silver Prizm of any given player). Making the card somewhat of a rarity, the card sells for significantly more than the base Prizm graded or even raw. A Silver Prizm PSA 10 sells for a median of $1,860 since Oct. 21, while in the same timeframe $201 for a base Prizm PSA 10. The Silver Prizm is the most common of the parallels in Panini’s Prizm product, but it is still an incredibly desirable card.

This is probably because of it being on the verge of being common and somewhat rare, making it feasible to more collectors and more of a liquid card. Luka is a consistent high performer and his recent performances of 40-point games, even earning high praise from new Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo who said “Obviously, he's one of the best scorers to play this game, if not the best.”

Earning praise from Antetokounmpo is absolutely amazing not only for realizing the importance of Luka to the league, but also from a two-time regular season MVP shows that Dončić has a place in the league for many years to come. The hype of his cards is real. It is why his Prizm Silvers sell for significantly more than his base Prizm cards.

Comparing the liquidity of sales to the base Prizm PSA 10, since June 24, the base Prizm PSA 10 sold 193 times, proving the scarcity of the Prizm silvers compared to the base version of the card.

2018-19 Optic Rated Rookie

Dončić’s Optic rookie is less desirable than both the base Prizm and Prizm Silver. I’d call it maybe one tier below the Prizm base. The card is a more affordable way to get into Luka’s market. PSA 10 copies have sold 235 times since November 5, 2025. This suggests fewer copies are likely to be on the market, as collectors and investors prefer the Prizm set, or even higher-end sets like National Treasures, for players with high market values.

However, this card's affordability is a great way to enter Luka’s market. A step or so below Prizm in demand, this set still features a chromium finish, adding to the eye appeal. Chromium cards demand high values in today’s market across all sports.

This set has the same design as Optic’s, except for the chromium finish. This card is still extremely liquid, with plenty on the market. PSA 10 copies have sold 345 times since November 2, 2025. While sales are down from the Panini Prizm (708 sales), they're still above the Optic and the Silver Prizm. I find this very interesting because the Prizm Silver is a higher-value card compared to the others and is somewhat rarer, but it shows the belief that collectors and investors have in Luka to see his market increase, and that having a desirable card that is still fairly liquid will guarantee the card will sell when they want to put the card to market.

What I think of these trends

It is no secret that Luka Dončić is one of the best players in the NBA. His continuing hot streak, as well as his ability to earn praise from multi-time NBA All-Stars, shows that he has the talent not only to be a star for years, but also for his market to continue to rise. Whether his praise drives his market or is just one part of it, Luka shows no sign of slowing down. His market will continue to rise. His rookie Silver Prizm PSA 10 has the fewest sales of the four, but it has the highest price, showing collectors want it as a high-risk, high-reward piece that could pay off if he keeps playing as well as he has.
