The Gold Star Umbreon Still Has Room to Run After Goldin's Sunday Sale

A PSA 10 of the 2007 Gold Star Umbreon sold for $738,100 at Goldin on Sunday night after one sold for $104,920 there in April.

Two PSA 10s of the Umbreon, card #17 from the 2007 Pokémon POP Series 5 set, closed 66 minutes apart on Sunday night. The Fanatics Collect copy went first for $456,000 with its premium, then Goldin's drew 47 bids before it closed at 9:38 p.m. Pacific for $738,100.

Anyone calling the top on Umbreon will point to that Fanatics copy, since a collector could have walked away with a 10 for $456,000 an hour earlier. But Goldin's copy closed after it and still found a buyer at a higher price, which makes $738,100 the number the next seller lists against.

The same night, two PSA 10s of the 2006 Dragon Frontiers Gold Star Charizard sold for $504,000 at Fanatics Collect and $430,660 at Goldin. Goldin's Umbreon outsold both as the scarcer card in a 10, with 53 PSA 10s out of 866 graded against 97 PSA 10 Charizards in GemRate's counts.

Umbreon is the character the new wave of collectors wants. You can grab the 2021 Celebrations reprint of the same art for around $300 in a PSA 10, but that's a different card. The 9s are running with the 10s too, as a PSA 9 sold for $72,000 on Sunday at Fanatics Collect after one went for $16,200 there in August 2025.

I think $738,100 is the new floor for a PSA 10. If you own one, I wouldn't sell it for less, because with 53 out there and the 9s climbing behind them, I expect the next 10 to cross that price.
