A 1956 Mantle sets a grade record at REA, by twenty thousand

A 1956 Topps Mantle gray back in PSA 8.5 brought $76,875 USD at REA, more than $20,000 USD above the old mark at that grade. We previewed the lot on September 14, when the issue's record was $414,800 USD for a PSA 9.

A 1952 Topps Mantle in PSA 1.5 matched the gray back at $76,875 USD. A 1985 Star Gatorade Slam Dunk Michael Jordan in PSA 8 set an all-time high at $70,725 USD.

A 1962 Topps Willie Mays PSA 8.5 at $64,575 USD and an E92 Croft's Candy Ty Cobb PSA 3 at $56,580 USD set records too. So did a 1951 Bowman Mantle rookie at $34,440 USD; an unused Ohtani redemption in the same sale brought $22,755 USD.
