Collector Crypt runs gacha machines that users can pull between $25 and $5,000, almost always giving a graded card to every user. Its users ripped 123,425 packs on Oct. 20 for $24.3 million in gross pack sales, a one-day record by the company's own numbers, Crypto Briefing reported.

PackScout has the typical Collector Crypt pack paying back about 94 cents on the dollar, among the highest of any site it tracks. Buybacks pay out in USDC on a 72-hour clock.

Collector Crypt sponsors CardWire.

Collector Crypt at a glance

  • What you buy: one item a pull, usually a graded card, from 38 live machines on Nov. 6.
  • What you see first: four value tiers with odds, the buyback rate and an expected value.
  • What you get back: 85%, 90% or 93% of insured value, set by machine, in USDC.
  • How you pay and cash out: pay in USDC or by card. Buybacks go to your own wallet.
  • Who's behind it: Collector Crypt, with 49 partners building on its gacha API in October by Moonrock Capital founder Simon Dedic's count. Sites running on its machines include Jupiter Gacha, Solflare, Rarible, Pump.fun, Infinex, Gacha Sports, Slabz, ComicBook.com, Collector Club, Glyde and a Ripmart-branded gacha.

How does Collector Crypt work?

You connect a Solana wallet, pick a machine and pay. The card lands in your wallet as a Solana NFT.

  1. Pick a machine. Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, Riftbound, Dragon Ball, anime, sports and watches.
  2. Read the panel. Four tiers, their odds and dollar ranges, the buyback rate and the expected value.
  3. Pull. One pull, one item. Turbo mode sells your Common pulls back automatically.
  4. Decide. Sell it back within 72 hours, list it on the marketplace or burn the NFT to ship the slab home.

What are the odds in a Collector Crypt pack?

Most pulls land in the bottom tier: on the $5,000 Celestial Pokémon machine, 75 pulls in 100 bring back a card insured at $2,500 to $5,000.

  • Four tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic at 75, 20, 4 and 1 in 100. Four cheaper machines run 80, 15, 4 and 1.
  • The chase: Two 2003 Skyridge Charizard PSA 10s in the Celestial's Epic tier, each insured at $150,000.
  • More than cards: The same tier holds two sealed 1999 Fossil 1st Edition booster boxes.
  • Provably fair: The verify page recomputes both steps from your pull's memo against the record on Solana.

What does a Collector Crypt pack pay back?

About 94 cents on the dollar across its 38 live machines, among the highest of the seven sites where PackScout shows expected value.

PackScout takes what a pack should pull, multiplies it by the buyback rate and divides by the price. Anything under 100 is money you lose on the average pull when you sell it straight back.

The value going in blends recent pulls with the platforms' own numbers, in Collector Crypt's case its insured value rather than what the card sold for. Its machines run from about 90 to about 99 cents on figures that move through the day.

How does Collector Crypt's buyback work?

Its machines offer 85% to 93% of a card's insured value for 72 hours after the pull.

Insured value is Collector Crypt's own number, set copy by copy from pricing "taken from ALT, eBay and other platforms." It changes often: the Celestial's Skyridge Charizard PSA 10 was marked down by a sixth in two days in early November, while your offer locks the moment you pull.

We checked eight Pokémon slabs from its $250, $1,000 and $5,000 machines against their last 30 days of sales, from a Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon ex PSA 10 to that Skyridge. Six sat within 5% of the market and the other two sat below it. On those machines, the 7% to 10% you give up is the real price of selling back.

  • Who sets it: Collector Crypt alone, with no published way to dispute a value.
  • 85%: the $25 Starter, $50 Elite, $50 Halloween Ghosts, $50 One Piece and $75 anime machines.
  • 93%: the $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 Pokémon machines, PSA 10 Only and every Lorcana, Riftbound and Dragon Ball machine, among others.
  • Where the card goes: Back into the pool of its machine, where someone else can pull the same slab.
  • The expected value: 99.8% to 110.3% of the price across the machines on its site on Nov. 7. That's insured value, not cash.

How do you check a Collector Crypt offer before you take it?

Find the insured value, then check it against recent sales of that card in that grade.

  1. Find the insured value. A $90 offer on a 90% machine means a $100 insured value.
  2. Pull recent sales. Same card, set, grader and grade on eBay's sold listings.
  3. Compare. Near the insured value, take it before the 72 hours run out. Well above it, keep the card or list it.

Is a 93% buyback good?

Yes, when the insured value matches the market.

  • Against eBay: a $100 sale leaves about $86 after fees, before shipping. A 93% machine pays $93 in USDC on a $100 insured value.
