Someone Pulled a $45,000 1st Edition Flareon Out of a $1,000 Grail Break Pack
One lucky collector turned a $1,000 pack into a $42k buyback offer
A collector on a new breaking app called Grailbreak ripped a $1,000 Pokémon pack Thursday night and pulled a 1999 Jungle 1st Edition Flareon holo in a PSA 10. Grailbreak values the slab at $45,000. The cert checks out as a real PSA 10 Flareon.
That's a monster hit on a card that was an $8,000 slab until the last week of September. Flareon has led this fall's run in 1st Edition Jungle holos. A PSA 10 sold for $35,529 at auction on Sept. 30 and for $55,200 at Fanatics Collect on Oct. 11. The latest went for $25,800 on Oct. 18, well off that peak.
If I pulled it, I'd take Grailbreak's buyback. At 93% on a $1,000 pack, it pays $41,850 on this slab.
Grailbreak has some other novel breaking formats for users looking to rip packs with friends and their community. The battle slabs format is unique and the standard breaks are well done.
