Naruto's Gen Con Chakra Card has recovered after October's pull back

A PSA 10 of the Gen Con Chakra Card sold for $4,200 on eBay on Oct. 19. The first graded copy sold for $4,150 on Sept. 4.

The promo, card CP-001, shows Naruto and Sasuke with a Gen Con mark on the card. Bandai gave it to players who finished a tutorial of its new Naruto Card Game in Indianapolis this summer.

After the Yankees gave out a version of the card with the team's logo at a Sept. 8 game¹, PSA 10s fell from around $2,950 to about $2,600 over two weeks. They have climbed every week in October.

Bandai is now handing out more copies. At New York Comic Con, where it set the game's launch for June 2027, tutorial players got a CP-001 with no event mark. The same unstamped card goes out at Spiel Essen in Germany and Paris Games Week from Oct. 22 to 25, then at Lucca Comics & Games in Italy.

The Gen Con and New York cards differ in one way, the highly sought after Gen Con mark. Bandai's Gen Con page names a "Gen Con 2026 Ver." while its New York, Essen and Paris pages list a plain CP-001. One collector blog's photos of the New York card show no mark.

Consider a collector who finished the Gen Con tutorial and kept the card raw. Raw copies have sold around $1,000 every week since mid-September. As of Oct. 19, PSA had given 112 of the 139 copies it graded a 10. A PSA 9 sold for $811 twice this month.

I'd send that card to PSA. I'd also buy a raw copy around $1,000 for the same shot at a 10. The unstamped Essen and Paris cards are unlikely to start selling near the Gen Con price, but will be a cheaper way to get your hands on the CP-001.
