Puka Nacua's Record Week Hasn't Moved His Rookie Card
Collectors have paid the same for Nacua's PSA 10 Prizm rookie for a year straight, catch record included.
Puka Nacua passed Michael Thomas's 346 catches on Sunday, Oct. 18, for the most by any player through his first 50 regular-season games. He caught six passes for 80 yards in the Rams' 18-16 loss to Arizona.
Nobody has sold a PSA 10 of his 2023 Prizm rookie since Sunday. The last one went for $50 on Oct. 17, about what it sold for last November.
Anyone who wanted more than the base card has paid up for his Silver Prizm instead. A PSA 10 Silver sold for $195 on Monday, the day after the record, against about $97 a year ago.
Collectors have priced Nacua like a sure thing all along. A record they saw coming hasn't changed that.
With the Silver already doubled, we'd buy the base PSA 10 at $60 before the first post-record sales land. The worst case is owning a record holder's rookie that keeps selling for $50.
