Lawrence Taylor's Rookie Card Just Had Its Best Year Even Though He Retired in 1993.
A PSA 10 of his 1982 Topps rookie sold for $12,386 on Oct. 14. Over the last year, PSA 10s sold around $8,865, more than in any year since 2020.
The last time a PSA 10 of Lawrence Taylor's 1982 Topps rookie sold for more than the $12,386 one did on Oct. 14 was March 2021, at the top of the pandemic card boom. That copy brought $17,050.
The rest of the market has passed the boom. The seven PSA 10s that sold over the last 12 months went for around $8,865, against around $6,700 for the 32 that sold in 2021. From 2022 through 2024, the card sat near $5,000.
The PSA 9 climbed with it, from around $592 in October 2025 to around $840 this October.
We'd expect the next PSA 10 to clear $9,000, because four of the last five sold for more than $8,800 and PSA has given only 198 copies a 10.
