A signed U.S. Caramel Babe Ruth sells for nearly $1 million USD

Goldin sold the signed 1932 U.S. Caramel Babe Ruth for $976,000 USD with buyer's premium after 26 bids on Saturday night. Before the 22% premium, the winning bid was $800,000 USD, up from $475,000 USD when we posted the lot on September 21.
In the same sale, Charles Conlon's original Type I print of Ty Cobb sliding sold for $945,500 USD with buyer's premium on 30 bids. A Cy Young rookie cabinet in formal attire from the Ryder Studio, graded PSA FR 1.5 (MK), sold for $427,000 USD with buyer's premium.
Goldin sold the only known signed 1933 Sport Kings Ruth for $471,042 USD with buyer's premium in October 2024, about half the Caramel Ruth's price.
