Judge dismisses collectors' antitrust suit against Fanatics

A federal judge dismissed Jones v. Fanatics on Tuesday, a 13-count class action by collectors against Fanatics, the leagues and the players associations. Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain ruled that the 18 named plaintiffs had not shown the licenses harmed them personally.

None had named the cards they bought, the prices they paid, or where they bought them. The court did not decide whether the exclusive licenses break antitrust law.

Panini's own antitrust suit against Fanatics, before the same judge, is still open.
