What Card Collectors Can Chase at New York Comic Con

Cardsmiths has a Bitcoin chase, PSA's booth has a 1-in-25 Pochita and Magic sells a Secret Lair drop.

By Jeff Newman·Oct 6, 2026

New York Comic Con opens Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Javits Center and runs through Sunday, Oct. 11. It's the show's 20th anniversary. Last year's show drew more than 250,000 fans and more than 1,250 exhibitors and creators, the organizer, ReedPop, says.1

Six card and game companies, along with graders PSA and CGC, have announced their plans for the show, including a Bitcoin redemption card and a Pochita chase card limited to 50 copies.

Cardsmiths will sell three Fall 2026 Convention Exclusive sets at the show.2

Street Fighter 50, all from Street Fighter V Cherry Blossom and Yoshino Blossom variations, White Lotus variation
Betty Boop 5, all New York themed Gemstone Parallels and Gold-Foil Signature Cards

Cardsmiths says its Currency redemption cards are good for hits worth up to 0.1 Bitcoin. Bitcoin traded at $85,500 USD on October 6, which puts 0.1 Bitcoin at about $8,550 USD.3 Cardsmiths hasn't said what the three base designs show, how many redemption cards exist, what they cost, or how often one lands in a pack.

In the Street Fighter set, the Cherry Blossom and Yoshino Blossom variations are each numbered to 25. The White Lotus variation makes each of the 50 designs a 1/1.

The five Betty Boop designs are all New York themed. "We're paying tribute to the city with some of this year's exclusive trading card designs inspired by New York," said Steve Loney, Cardsmiths' co-founder and CEO.

PSA sells Chainsaw Man metal cards at booth 1223

PSA's booth will sell a Chainsaw Man metal card collection from Dogu Publishing during the Oct. 8 to 11 show. An ungraded mystery pack costs $40 USD, according to PSA's NYCC page.4 Each pack holds one encased metal card. The Beat reports, citing Dogu's announcement, that Crunchyroll licensed the set and Displate made it.5

The run is 1,250 cards, with 200 for each of the six characters and 50 Pochita chase cards, so a Pochita chase turns up in about 1 of every 25 packs.

The English voice cast signed 40 of the 1,250 cards, or about 1 in 31. Ryan Colt Levy signed 10 Denji and 10 Chainsaw Man cards, Reagan Murdock signed 10 Aki cards and Sarah Wiedenheft signed 10 Power cards.

Through Oct. 11, PSA will also sell a Hazbin Hotel promo card for $10 USD. A blind box costs $130 USD and holds one PSA-graded copy of Legend Has It, Vol. 1, the hip-hop comic Mass Appeal made with Marvel. Some copies are signed, and buyers won't know which they have until they open the box. PSA will split the 100 copies between its booth and Whatnot's.

CGC and PSA take submissions at the show

CGC is the show's official grading and authentication service, at booths 2805 and HB906. It will take comics, trading card games, sports cards and non-sports cards for on-site submission. Collectors who'd rather keep walking the floor can use its Express Drop-off Service, which needs a free CGC account, an online form and printed packing slips. CGC will ship those submissions to its headquarters in Sarasota, Florida.12

Card submitters can get one of two CGC x Mercari Mike promo cards and one One Piece Cybercel card. CGC caps them at one per person, per show, while supplies last. CGC's announcement doesn't list fees or turnaround times, so check CGC's submission page before you pack a box.

CGC will also run two sessions you can drop into:

  • From Raw to Slab: The CGC Grading Experience. CGC Comics President Matt Nelson and Vice President Shawn Caffrey will cover the grading process on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in Room 1C03.
  • Meet the Graders. Nelson and Caffrey will take questions one-on-one at booth 2805 on Thursday and Friday from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Each eligible submission will also get one free exclusive comic: Absolute Batman #24 in Jock Cover C or Dexter Soy Cover C, or Dungeon Crawler Carl #0 Day Variant. There will only be 1,000 copies of each Batman cover, so go quickly!

PSA will take drop-off submissions at booth 1223, cards and sealed packs included, until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, but it won't grade anything on site.13

Beckett's online submission center is still down after the company took its systems offline over what it called suspicious technical activity. Its Oct. 2 update says submissions will return in the first phase of a rollout over the coming weeks.14

The rest of the floor

The show's dealer listing on The Card Shop Finder shows Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana and Dragon Ball singles and sealed, plus sports and vintage dealers.

Ripmart, a live-shopping app for cards, is still on a waitlist ahead of its launch. They will have one of the largest booths at the show and are hosting a welcome party on Thursday night.15
